Privacy Policy
Summary
Pods is a local-first macOS application. It runs entirely on your Mac. We do not operate a server that receives your content, and Pods contains no analytics, telemetry, tracking, or crash-reporting. The data Pods reads from your Mac never leaves your device through Pods.
What Pods does on your device
When you enable them, Pods reads and writes local Mac data on your device only:
- Messages, Notes, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, and supported third-party apps (e.g. Things, Bear), via macOS automation and local databases. This requires permissions you grant in macOS System Settings (Automation and, for some sources, Full Disk Access).
- Your automation configurations and run outputs, stored under
~/.podson your Mac.
This processing happens locally. We never receive this data.
Third parties you connect to
- Anthropic (Claude). Pods runs the Claude Code CLI using your own Claude / Anthropic account that you sign into. When an automation runs, the content it processes may be sent to Anthropic to generate results, subject to Anthropic’s Privacy Policy and your agreement with Anthropic. Pods does not store or relay your Anthropic credentials; they are managed by the Claude CLI on your Mac.
- MCP connectors you add. If you connect external tool servers (MCP), data may be sent to those services per their terms. You control which connectors you add.
Purchase and licensing data
We sell Pods through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our Merchant of Record. When you buy a license, Lemon Squeezy collects and processes your name, email, billing information, and payment details to complete the purchase and remit taxes. We receive limited order and license information (such as your email and license key status) to deliver and support your license. See Lemon Squeezy’s Privacy Policy.
To activate and validate your license, the app sends your license key and a device instance identifier to Lemon Squeezy’s License API. It does not send your personal content.
Data we store
- On your Mac: your automations, run logs, and outputs (
~/.pods); your license key and integration tokens in the macOS Keychain. - With our payment processor: your purchase and license records, held by Lemon Squeezy as described above.
We do not maintain our own database of your usage or content.
Your rights
Depending on your location (e.g. EEA/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal data, and to object to or restrict processing. Because purchase data is held by Lemon Squeezy, requests about that data may be directed to us or to Lemon Squeezy. We will respond as required by applicable law.
Children
Pods is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
